ABOUT MATSELENG
Matseleng was a High School Maths and Science teacher from 1993-1998. In the latter part of her teaching career, she worked part-time, as Property Practitioner mainly for Snooks Construction and ultimately started Snooks Estates in 1997, which currently has seven offices in Soweto and Johannesburg South. Matseleng has a B. Paed Science Degree, a B.ED. (Personnel Management) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management for Business Administration, (Wits Business School). She worked for 14 months at Investec Bank in their Organization Development (OD) Department. She also holds a certificate in Estate Agency and is registered with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority. She has a Higher Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments.
Matseleng is the co-founder and former chairperson of the Black Estate Agents Forum of South Africa which was formed with an aim of enhancing, creating and initiating value benefits for Property Practitioners from 2008 to 2010. She had also been serving on the Multi Listing Services (MLS) Board of Directors as Secretary from 2008, and it is through MLS that Snooks Estates, where Matseleng had been awarded Best Listing Agency for several consecutive months.
In 2009, she was appointed as one of the members of the Property Charter Council, where she was one of the signatories to the Charter. In 2010 - 2011, she worked as an Executive Director at a new company, Dream Tree Properties, which provided workplace training to 200 new estate agents, and employed 62 qualified estate agents, to work with the trainees. Later in 2010, she received a Young Lion award in the property industry that was recognition and acknowledgement for her resilience and contribution to the Real Estate Industry. She was featured in the Sept/Oct issue of the Property Professionals magazine in that same year. Other highlights of her career are multiple interviews on Summit TV, on the show ‘Ask the Experts, and radio interviews.
In 2011, when the interns had completed their qualification, Matseleng co-founded a new entity, Jomat Investments, which deals with human behaviour, initially with a core focus on helping people adapt to new technology and adapting to change, which in turn would assist the property market, energy space, educate and empower individuals, as well as organisations. This company has since evolved into an organization that helps people love and understand everything that happens in their lives and this helps with maximizing potential. When people are in this state of mind, they flourish in their careers because they start to love what they do.
Matseleng was once an Executive Director of a Development company that was developing high rise buildings in Johannesburg.
She was appointed by the Real Estate Regulatory Body (the PPRA – Practitioners Regulatory Authority previously known as the EAAB) to become one of the Facilitators for the Professional Designated Examinations which all estate agents that qualified after 2008 are compelled to undergo and complete.
Matseleng is a trained Demartini Method Facilitator (2013) and continues to educate herself in this field from various scholars.
Matseleng was a member of the BWASA (Business Women Association of South Africa), SAIBPP (South African Institute of Black Property Professionals), Business Engage Networks and IoDSA (Institute of Directors in South Africa) and the Concourse of Wisdom School (with a focus on human behaviour).
Matseleng loves furthering her knowledge in human behaviour, building a property business that empowers others through ownership of a branch or more, and she loves being involved in her children’s lives.
